Michael Farr is the author of the best-selling Tintin, The Complete Companion (Tintin, Le Rêve et la réalité) published in 2001, translated into 14 languages and now in its eighth editions in England and France.
Last year marked the 100th anniversary of Hergé’s birth in May 1907, and Egmont launched the
Tintin Character Series, a set of half-a-dozen hardback books by Michael Farr on the six principal characters from The Adventures of Tintin: Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, Bianca Castafiore, and the Thom(p)sons.
In September 2007, Egmont published Michael Farr’s Tintin and Co, a study of the origins and development of a selection of a dozen characters comprising la famille Tintin.
In October 2007, John Murray, publisher of Tintin, The Complete Companion, brought out Michael Farr’s biographical portrait The Adventures of Hergé, Creator of Tintin.
The cost of £ 25 per person includes the lecture, sandwiches and coffee, tea, or a glass of wine.
